Corporate Struggles…
So it’s only Wednesday, but I feel like I’ve lived a month in the past 3 days. The office has been non-stop with extremely late nights and early morning, leaving me with little sanity to hold on to for the rest of the week. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has had the urge of crawling under their desk and sobbing only to pop out just moments before a big meeting. Or maybe lunch, I’d definitely come up for some lunch… In all seriousness, my apologies to you all for falling a bit behind on my postings. But to be honest the last thing I want to do is turn on the computer at 11pm after 12+ hours of staring at one. But don’t fret my fashion pets, I promise to catch you all up this weekend! So keep an eye out for my upcoming posts!

Mellow Yellow…
Does this even count as yellow? Citrine perhaps is more exact?Ehh, close enough…To be honest, the necklace was a last-minute addition to this outfit, that I’ve had picked out for today since Tuesday, only because it’s the exact same shirt I wore ON Tuesday, just in a different color. Clearly, I’ve never been one to restrict myself when shopping, but I do follow some rules when I hit the malls. The cardinal rule to my shopping habits, drum roll please….If it looks good on you, BUY 3, in every color. Fashion changes almost as fast as the weather and things in stores won’t/don’t last. With new merchandise and collections coming in every couple of months finding something that makes you leap with joy in the dressing room, you best grab another! And that’s exactly what I did with this top. Simple, yet not so basic, the light weight top is great tucked into skirts/pants, as I wore in a vibrant green on Tuesday, and can be casual yet sophisticated enough for the office on this here Friday.
I’ll be honest with you all, I bought it in black too….And if we are being honest with each other, then I guess I should admit that if they had my size in the other two colors, I’d undoubtably own all 5.

Green With Envy…
100….
I can’t believe that this is already my 100th post on Hedge Funds and High Heels… Woohoo! I can sometimes have the attention span of a nat so to have stuck with this for so long is a pretty big accomplishment for me, but I have all of you to thank for that! My readers and followers have kept me motivated to continue writing and posting and spreading my love of fashion… I also owe a big thank you to my bestest friends who have listened to me bitch about my blogging problems, helped brainstorm and edit posts and have even been so kind as to let me post their pictures on my blog. You ladies have been the best!!!!!
I’m still in awe that something that was just a mere suggestion from a friend has turned into a passion and I hope you all have enjoyed this journey as much as I have. Here’s to making the next 100 posts as fun and exciting and just as fiercely fashionable. Cheers!

Sunshine and Sake…
It’s another beautiful spring day and of course I tried to enjoy every second of it. And enjoy it I did. From a run into a morning, running into old friends, and some inappropriate conversation over sushi and sake, it was a good day. Not nearly over just yet, but it’s a good start. Beautiful weather always puts you in a good mood, and today and tomorrow look to be picture perfect, making me forget this past week of deadlines, numerous spreadsheets, accounting errors, meetings and other corporate crap that ruined my first week of May. Oh the joys of working in finance.

Rough Around the Edges…
What do you do when someone points something out about you that you never really noticed? Or never thought would be something that could/would be said about the type of person that you are? It’s strange to think that after all this time of this here mother Earth, there are still new things you learn about yourself, especially when trying to grow and become the best version of you. A colleague of mine, while once again discussing my marital status, told me I was a bit rough around the edges… Not going to lie I was taken back by the comment and always thought of myself as being well put together and typically having all my ducks in a row. But I guess I could see his point. But now I ask, is being a bit rough around the edges a bad thing? Who wants something so prim and perfect that they are like the fancy living room in your parents house where you can look but not touch? Oh well, guess we’ll see if being a little rough around the edges works in my favor..

Traditions…
For as long as I can remember Sundays were always spent the same. We always woke up early and headed to church as a family, then we’d come home to have a big breakfast. 9 Sundays out of 10 it was the same routine. Now that my sister and I don’t live at home anymore, the tradition hasn’t quite kept up, but today it did. Dressed in our Sunday’s best we all headed to mass and then sat down for what seemed like a much larger than normal breakfast, but boy was it good. And thankfully I decided to snap a few photos of this outfit BEFORE heading out the door, because my skirt was definitely a bit tighter when all was said and eaten. Well worth it though. Now off to see what the rest of this beautiful day brings!

Favorite Things….
It’s another edition of my favorite things post and lucky for you all I have another 5 fab items that I’m loving right now. So without further ado, here they are:
My J.Crew Schoolboy Blazer – one word – OBSESSED. Every girl needs a good blazer in her wardrobe and this neutral color and light weight one is perfect for this in between season weather we are currently having.
There’s no better way to add some pop to your outfit than a necklace. From putting on a bright-colored beaded number with a plain white t-shirt, or adding some glitz to a LBD, throwing on a statement piece like the one above can turn any outfit into a show stopper. This metal/stone mixed beauty was a gift from my gal pals!
Ok, super girly moment warning…HOW PRECIOUS ARE THESE FLATS!?!? Ivanka Trump you done gooood. I think these bad boys speak for themselves. And better yet, purchased for super cheap at MARSHALLS…
Now before you head out the door in your blazer, statement necklace and bow flats, gotta paint those nails! Totally obsessed with Essie’s “Size Does Matter” (Ha oh so true) and “Stylenomics” (clearly I’d purchase this – I’m a girl who works in finance and anything that can combine economics/finance and fashion is a must have). Still not quite out of my winter dark nail phase so these are great for adding some punch to those fingers and toes.
And finally, right before heading out grab something good to eat. These LUNA bars, are seriously delicious and good for you! They don’t have that eating cardboard taste and can satisfy you for hours. Personal faves are the chocolate chunk and peanut butter cookie.
And just like that another week ends and on to more new and favorite things to find. Happy Friday fellow fashionistas!
Frozen Picnic…
WHAT THE FRIG SPRING!?! WHERE ARE YOU!? I’m not sure, but perhaps I keep jinxing the good weather with my spring/warm weather posts, because it is beyond cold today, and my bare legs were not prepared to be slapped with the brisk breeze as I ran from my door to my car in seek of shelter. Luckily I at least put on my leather skirt which is keeping me relatively warm at my desk.
Putting on this shirt today, or actually any time I ever put on something gingham, I always have the urge to plan a picnic. How cliché of me I know. But you can’t tell me you don’t have the same reaction!? Unfortunately this weather is definitely not conducive to having a picnic. Ugh, lunch in my cubicle it’ll have to be.

Spring Weekend…
When you think of spring, you think of budding trees, bright flowers, crisp air and just a happier self. This weekend was a quintessential spring weekend. The weather, although a little chilly, was beautiful, the birds were chirping, and it just seemed as if everything had finally come back to life after the long winter. Typical weekends for me are usually spent in sweat pants because after a week of pencil skirts and trousers, I really have no energy to put together something fabulous while I run around town doing errands. But the weather this weekend gave me some inspiration and pulled together this little number. Not to bad for a weekend, right?
